Gabriella Fazekas
Gabriella Fazekas was born in Budapest in 1930 and grew up in a family of great athletes. As a child, she suffered from an illness that the doctors were unable to cure. Thanks to gymnastic movements and a vegetarian diet, her illness was eradicated. Unfortunately, her parents could not escape the horrors of war and were killed in concentration camps. Gabriella, an orphan, was sent to Palestine.
Having lived in Israel, she received her name: Aviva, which means “spring”. Much later she married and became Aviva Steiner.
Throughout her life, she was passionate about sport and dance. She became a renowned ballerina in Tel Aviv and played opera roles (Carmen, Scheherazade...).
During her early childhood, Aviva discovered the link between body movement and health. Later, she stopped her dancing career to concentrate on other studies; sports teacher, anatomy, physiotherapy, yoga...
Following an experiment at the Hadassah clinic, she met many paralyzed patients and discovered that numb body parts could be made to move again in paralyzed children. She was able to demonstrate such improvements by activating the muscles around immobile body parts; so movement and willpower could help in many cases.
Harmonizing the body around the menstrual cycle and the birth of the AVIVA METHOD
Aviva also wanted to find a method to help young women avoid unwanted pregnancies.
Then, as she taught her warm-up exercise, she realized that women were no longer coming to her classes at the same time because they were menstruating, and even some so-called menopausal women were regularizing their cycles... At first, she found it hard to believe that menstruation could be intentionally influenced by exercise. However, this same result was repeated over and over again during her practice.
So she continued her research and developed the Aviva Method.
Over the years, Aviva has observed the positive effects of exercise on health. Many men and women benefited from Aviva's discoveries, regaining lasting vitality.
Aviva transmitted and taught extensively in Israel. Then she met Livia Toth (Hungarian), who enabled her to extend the method a little further across the borders to Europe.
Two books on the subject of her method (in Hungarian, German and English) made this knowledge accessible to the general public. Since his death, his educational work has continued in many European countries.
Livia's pupils Beate Plangger and Boglarka Nagy continue to pass on the method.
I had the good fortune and honor of being taught the AVIVA method by Boglarka in India in 2018 and in Austria by Beate in 2019. Now it's my turn to pass on this teaching and, above all, this power to turn your body into a force!
